| What | Tongue Point Job Corps is sponsoring the 12th Annual National Job Corps Commencement Day and Open House. Job Corps centers nationwide, including the Tongue Point Job Corps Center, will celebrate the graduation of thousands of Job Corps students as they become employable, financially independent members of society. As a result of Job Corps’ comprehensive academic and career preparation services, more than 85% of the programs’ graduates will pursue a career, enlist in the military or enroll in higher education. | When | The event will take place on Friday, August 11, 2023. The Open House will run from about 10am to 2pm and the Graduation will take place at 3pm. | Why | To celebrate the thousands of young people who have worked to become active and contributing members of their communities. In addition, we wish to showcase the Tongue Point Job Corps Center, and Job Corps as a whole, the nation’s most effective career-preparation program for the opportunity youth. Join the Job Corps community on this momentous occasion to share the message that “Job Corps Works!” for at-risk youth, employers, communities and taxpayers. | Who | You! and Tongue Point Job Corps Center is asking members of Congress and staff to join forces with the Job Corps community to show their support for the graduates and Job Corps.
