First Saturdays  from 5-7 pm, Seaside area galleries and stores invite the public to mingle with artists during First Sat. Art presented by the Seaside Chamber of Commerce. 
 

Featured Shows and Artists For Sept. 7, 2013

A Trails End Art Association / 656 A St. Gearhart/
717-9458 Start your art walk off early from 3-6PM. Featured artist Sheila Brown will demonstrate her block print techniques

B Gilbert Dist Gallery / 613 Broadway Stop in for an adventure. Works by wildlife artist Dave Bartholet as well as many other talented artist.

C Fairweather House & Garden / 612 Broadway/
738-8899 The GUYS TAKE OVER Art Walk is very different from anything Fairweather's has done before. The exhibition is all NW men artists and will be arranged for optimal display, yet, too, a spotting scope provided by NW naturalist, Neal Maine, will allow the visitors view through a camera lens a powerful razor-sharp magnification of a Great Horned Owl, a specimen received from the "Fish and Wildlife guys". Other notable guys appearing: Paul Brent, will painting LIVE, Jan Shield, John Dudley, Tom Hausken, Nick Brakel and Zifen Qian. The show, a benefit for Sea Turtles Forever, scores another first, as Marc Ward, founder/ activist will speak to the art patrons. Kristin Qian, musician will perform in between 6:30pm to 7:pm Kristin Qian , Kristin was selected as the concertmaster of the American High School Honors Performance Series Orchestra at Carnegie Hall. She is playing to honor of her father, Zifen Qian, a Portland State University Professor of Art, who will be exhibiting original works of art. for more information go to: www.fairweatherhouseandgarden.com

738-3100 Presenting "10,000 Things", a collection of new work by local artist, Rebecca Read. Having studied graphic design and typography, Rebecca uses her knowledge of calligraphy and printmaking, to portray a dynamic visual playground of storytelling.

An exclusive, available to the public for the first time, showing of artwork by Richard Blakely 1952-2007, formerly of Svenson. Proceeds of sales will be donated to Clatsop-Nehalem Confederated Tribe Restoration Fund. A variety of mediums including watercolor, colored pencil and even poetry, portraiture to wildlife, stunning and moving, exhibit begins Sept. 7 and ends Sept.29. Plus new arrivals in oil and acrylic by Nho Nguyen,wood-carved sculpture and paintings by local artist Sean Ohrenich, sculpture by Sharon Boyer (of Jacksonville, Or) made of forest-found objects and raku sculpted faces. View hand-felted works by Kathy Elfers of Florence, Oregon, offering a varied selection of handbags and scarves to large wall hangings. Wine and hors d'oeuvres from 5pm to 7pm.
